Quit India Movement & Azad Hind Fauj Completes 75 Years

An exhibition ‘ Karenge Ya Marenge 75 Chalo Dilli’ has been organized from 9th August -1st September at The National Archive of India. The exhibition will publicize thousands of documents and files related to Quit India Movement(Bharat Chhodo Andolan) and Azad Hind Fauz(Indian National Army).

Quit India Movement, and the formation of Azad Hind Fauj are the two huge events in Indian History. Both of them are finishing up their 75 years on 9th August and 1st September respectively.

Both of these two developments took place in 1942. So, on their 75th anniversary, the Cultural Ministry has decided to hold an exhibition for the same, This will include publicizing all the related files and documents of both the events including Bose and Indian National Army for the critical observation by the people.
The documents consist of famous slogans like ‘Karenge Ya Marenge’(Do or Die) and ‘Bharat Chhodo’ by Yusuf Mehar Ali and others as well, an official of the National Archives of India said.
People will be able to have a glimpse at the documents and also the letter that has been written by Mahatma Gandhi on 8th August 1942 where he coined the slogan ‘Karenge Ya Marenge”.
The general public thinks that the slogan ‘Bharat Chhodo’ has been given by the Gandhiji, but the documents prove that it has been coined by the freedom fighter- Yusuf Mehar Ali- an official said.
The files of the INA showcases the enrollment of the Captain Mohan Singh in Indian National Army. They also display all the propaganda material used; such as- pamphlets, banners, posters, etc.
